The COLOURS Organization and its Legendary Crystal Balls are staples in Philadelphia’s Black Gay history. The annual “prevention” Ball was first held in 1997. It incorporates HIV prevention messages within the night’s competition and array of fashions. The Crystal Ball took a break in 2005 and returned in 2011.
